Beskrivelse
English edition of the popular “Learn with Braveheart” book, bursting with educational content and charming, illustrative drawings. Learn with Braveheart – SMILE Horsemanship© offers an introduction to horsemanship, providing valuable insights into horses and ponies along with engaging activities that equip both children and adults with a solid understanding of these magnificent animals and the methods for creating a friendly, harmonious, and safe interaction — whether during everyday handling, groundwork training, or riding.
The first section of the book is filled with informative content that can be read aloud for younger children or independently by older ones, serving as a foundation for discussions about horses and ponies, their behavior, language, and signals, as well as our interactions and handling techniques. This is further enhanced by a few exercises designed to illustrate the educational material, along with practical tips for managing horses and ponies.
Following the instructional content, a series of activities invites children — or parents and trainers — to write and draw their responses to questions and hypothetical scenarios. I encourage you to come up with additional situations to discuss, such as those children may experience in the stable or during lessons.
The book also includes several blank pages, offering space for personal notes or drawings that capture the experiences children have had with horses and ponies, or other related topics you explore together.
At the end of the book, you’ll find suggested solutions for the exercises. In many cases, multiple answers are possible, which is why these are presented as suggested solutions. My hope is that you will help children view the situations and tasks from various perspectives — not least from the horses’ and ponies’ point of view.
